ABOUT OUR CHURCH
A diverse but ordinary group of people loved by an extraordinary God
At St Lawrence's you will find a diverse but ordinary community of people who are loved by an extraordinary God. We struggle with the issues of life that are common to most people, but the difference is that we know we have an extraordinary God who loves us. He loves us so much he sent his Son Jesus to die for us to forgive us and bring us into a relationship with him! Being in a relationship with God is the best thing in this world and the greatest hope for the world to come.
We seek to be a community who are ‘Disciples Making Disciples’ - disciples of Jesus who in turn share the great news of Jesus to make more disciples, that our communities, city and entire world may also come to know God’s love and find relationship with him through Christ.
At St Lawrence's we believe that God's church is the multi-age and multi-racial family of God united in Christ. Every member of the church, every disciple, has a unique and important role to play in serving others.
An important part of this are our Sunday gatherings. People of all ages and backgrounds across Perth come along to our Sunday morning and Sunday evening services. Both morning and evening services have a Sunday school program with trained Sunday School teachers.
Sunday services are just part of what it means to be a Christian community. We encourage all members to join a weekly Growth Group, where we help each other grow in Christian knowledge and character. We have a youth program called Westcoast Youth with meetings each Friday 6:30pm during school term. We regularly offer Baptism, Confirmation and Confirmation classes, and courses for those investigating Christianity.
