READINGS: Psalm 118:1-24; Acts 10:34-43; Matthew 28:1-10
COLLECT: Almighty God, you have conquered death through your dearly beloved Son Jesus Christ and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: grant us by your grace to set our mind on things above, so that by your continual help our whole life may be transformed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit in everlasting glory. Amen.
SENTENCE: This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118.24
For your children for during the service, download and print these activity sheets on Luke 24:36-49. There are pages to colour in (for younger children), and some questions to answer (for older children).
(We acknowledge with thanks these resources from Faithinkids.org which is allowing free use of these materials during the Covid-19 pandemic.)
For before or after the service, you may wish to:
- Read Luke 24:36-49 with your children in an age-appropriate Bible (eg here)
- Go through the discussion questions on the activity sheets. The big idea is: Jesus wanted his friends to be sure he was alive, and that his death and resurrection were all part of God's plan.
- Watch and talk about this great Easter Sunday Quizworx children's talk which reminds our children that Jesus is the living, peace-bringing, sending King!
